Dropped objects

I bought an object and by mistake dropped it on my own land. Now it's gone. Any way to retrieve it? Many thanks, Violet

hmm, not sure if setting auto-return on will return owners objects which are dropped but 'Show transparent objects', Alt-cntrl T I think, should give you a red marker for it which you might be able to right-click and take

Violet, you may done what I kept doing inadvertently. It is possible to drop any object "in" another object rather than on the surface.

If this has happened to you, you need to go back to the location where you did it, click to "edit" the floor, or whatever you were trying to rez the new object on - and then check the "floors" contents - you may find your "missing" stuff there - in which case copy them to inventory and try again, perhaps out on solid ground.

I never did find out why this happened sometimes, but not all the time - perhaps the experts can tell us - but I DO know that when I discovered this I found that my "floor" contained all sorts of "lost" stuff.
