Forgive me if i have not searched enough. I am sure I am not the first to ask this...
I have turned on loggin for chat and IMs.
I found my logs and the incoming IM and Chat is there, but I don't get my part of the conversation.
I have been using the Emerald viewer, is this relevant?
PLEASE tell me or show me where to find the fix for this. I need to see the entire dialog, not just the incoming part.

Are you looking at the separate IM logs or just IMs sent to chat?

I've had this problem for years and never bothered to ask. It's something I've always wondered. Kind of creepy when you read only one side of conversation. "What did I say to her?"

I believe it's this way: if you have IMs set to be viewed in chat, that chat log will contain incoming IMs, but of course your answers will only be in the IM log (so make sure you turn that on).
Every person you IM has a log if you save IM logs.

. How have you managed? Ah! Right you are a dog so you cant talk anyway so its a one-sided conversation.

So I think i get it. The files with each person's name is IM log, and the one labeled Chat is a colleciton of incoming chats and IMs. The Chat file does not contain my words, but the IM log does. The lines of dialog in the IM log are not preceded by "IM:" as they are in the Chat log. Crystal clear now- thanks so much for your help Starr |
