In another thread, someone mentioned Ctrl Alt Shft 4 would hide your AV. while i have no real desire to do that, it does give a possible explanation of why i was invisible for many many days when i first started.... and i jsut started pushing tons of buttons until POOF i was magically on screen again. (i was also, at the time, highlighting with the "T" and i must haev hit a wrong button. LOL) i know ctrl alt shft 5 makes the ground disappear. handy when trying to find that prim i accidentally buried during creation. ;)

anyway....

can we start a list of wut the ctrl alt shft possibilities do?

They should all be listed in the Client menu (you need to enable debug menus to get that) - look in Rendering Types (I think it's called)

Anyone interested in SL photography, even casual photos, should familiarize themselves with the Client menu and Rendering submenu. Want to take a picture of your av in a natural setting, without all the spinning ads? Just hide the stuff! Other people can still see it, but it won't show up on your screen or in your pictures.

It's also useful for other reasons. Hiding the ground is so perfect for finding stuff you accidentally lost below ground. I also use it when I'm building... I have a large plot of land currently filled with just Linden trees and grasses. When I need them gone so I can build, I just hide the trees and grasses, and it's like they aren't even there. When I'm done, I just show them again.

Yep, all sorts of fun and useful things to be found in the Client menu! :)

I did play about with various key combinations last night, i didn't realise how easy it was to switch things. If you mess it up and forget what you pressed, how do you reset the view to how it should be? :o lol

Ctrl-Shift-Y Force Noon.
I didn't realise Debug menu was required for forcing daylight.

wierd

Never personally seen any Hipppos ingame, they can be quite messy creatures, especially if you are stood to their rear when they pooh... and they do run faster than a man... perhaps why I've never seen them...
