Jack Linden has just posted that Homestead Grandfathered tier rates will be extended to Jan 2011 He also has announced that from May 1st 2010 any Grandfathered region transferred to another user will lose it's grandfathering. Good news all round really. Grandfathered status on transfer should have been ended a while back but it's fair that they've given a decent notice period.

While it is a good thing, considering the massive fallout which would likely happen once the next price hike kicked in, this is really, really screwing over those who gave up their openspaces based on Jack Linden's explicit, repeated "There will be *no* grandfathering" statements back when the openspace prices were changed in the first place.
-Which also gives the bad feeling that Jack's statements are valid for roughly a month-and-a-half, before "continuously evaluating the market" allows him to change them as he sees fit. Let us hope he actually means the "open and predictable" this time; a rare instance of using the word in the sense the residents asked for.

With this I agree as I am one that wasn't prepared to trust LL further and gave up our sim and homestead and scaled back to 1 mainland sim. I am afraid LL has lost my trust that it used to have
