OK, whilst exploring the other day I was at a clothing store that had a greeter that looked like a teddy bear - Sadly I did not note the details and later when trying to find the greeter through search I have thus far failed to find where it is sold and I cannot remember where the store was so I can check who created the greeter.
It is possible that it's a custom creation and not for sale anywhere but I was wondering if anyone here know if it is for sale anywhere.
Thanks in advanced ^^

Finding Teddy
11-04-2006 08:30
Hello, Just helpful tip for those who read this. If you find a nice item you enjoy being used in game and want to find out where it came from, just click it, choose edit, and on the first page of the edit screen it tells you who created it. Click for thier profile and more times then not they will have listed somewhere on thier profile a location thier items can be found and purchased.

That's fine if you own the item, Teddy, but if you don't the Edit box will be blank. In that case click "more" then "more" again and choose "Rate Creator". Click that and you will see the creator's name. You can exit without rating if you want to.

Clicking Edit
11-05-2006 05:57
I have been doing it this way for months on Items I do not own and it works fine. That is how I find most of the interesting items I own. I will explain it one more time: -Find an item you think is interesting -Click on it and choose "Edit" from the pie menu -In the edit window if you click the little blue button it brings up detials on who created the item, who owns the item, and what group if any the item belongs to. -If you select the blue button next to "Creator" of item the profile of the creator will pop up on your screen. -90% of the time somewhere in the creators profile will be a link to a shop where they sell the item you are interested in. If not then just IM the creator and politly ask if they sell the item and if you can get a copy.
This works, I do it all the time.

I agree with Teddy, that's the way I've been doing it since I came in as well.

*hugz and handshakes* Teddy Wakmann CEO Teddy's Girls LOL I know how to bring up the edit box. I wouldn't have much success placing objects on my parcel if I didn't, or building. I'd love to know your secret, though, because I've often tried finding the creator's name when I see interesting items. In each case the edit box was blank because I didn't own the item and had no edit rights over it. I've sometimes come out of edit in building classes and, returning, accidentally clicked on another participant's object. I've realised my mistake because the edit box is blank. Don't believe me? Check out this pic which I took at the Lost Gardens of Apollo. I clicked a nice-looking torch, selected Edit from the pie menu, and this is the result. You can click on Profile all you like, when the box looks like this, but the button is inactive.

I think that is a bug, it often happens to me as well. However, after the box comes up, try clicking on the object again, and it will show the info.

All these months of getting the blanked out box (every time!) and you've solved it for me. Thanks. Are you on a Mac by any chance?

No, Macs hate me. I guess one of us should report this as a bug, eh?

If you have "Select only my objects" enabled you will get a blank box. Uncheck "Select only my objects" and you will get the info. "Select only my objects" is invaluable for building, but it's important to know what the setting do to be able to use them.

Smith's suggestion worked though, and at least we know it's not a bug. So many wasted weeks. [shakes head] Thanks, Osprey.

I don't know how I'd feel about a teddy bear greeter. I know I simply hate it every time one of those robot greeters gets in my face and begins maliciously greeting me, but maybe a teddy bear would feel less intrusive somehow. Maybe.

I don't care for them myself, either. A constant barrage of welcomes sends me running from the places that have them.

From what I understand, you can set them so they don't follow people around. If you use them, please do this! Being followed around by a babbling Teddy Bear isn't cute, it's annoying.
