Well, I am too young to remember the book as it came out but I mourn an American Master's passing. Thank you, J.D. for Holden Caulfield. We will all be a Catcher in teh Rye for someone in our lives. Yrs, Jig Chippewa. (Say a Hi to Ernest when you see him for me)

John Lennon is going to have a little talk with JD, I'm sure.

When are the new pages hitting the shelves?
He never stopped writing - only publishing.

He never stopped writing - only publishing. When I heard, I'm sorry to say that I immediately pictured his publisher and editor and other associated personnel trying to conceal their happy anticipation with attempts at sad faces. (Comes of having worked in the publishing biz, I suppose.)

From: Ephraim Kappler Yes. Meh. His "Seymour" stories are much more interesting, I think. And, as I've said elsewhere here, "To Esme -- With Love and Squalor" is my own favourite.

“That's the whole trouble. You can't ever find a place that's nice and peaceful, because there isn't any. You may think there is, but once you get there, when you're not looking, somebody'll sneak up and write "Meh" right under your nose.”

From: J.D. Salinger I am a kind of paranoid in reverse. I suspect people of plotting to make me happy. R.I.P.
