Is it just me?

I just recently made my new store available under search places. Earlier today I managed to find it by performing a search. Later on today though, it's vanished.
I also tried searching for friends places that I know are normally listed and the same thing happened, they appear to be no longer listed.
I have reported a bug for this, but just wondered is anyone else having the same problem?

It seems like I've had the problem, too. My friends tell me that they cant find the listing for my club, even though I had paid the $50 L to post it!

Totally frustrating!

They chaged the way search works, it could be related to that.

Also, you mention you listed your land, not a classified, I think you show up in land from highest to lowest traffic under "all"

so if you`re low in traffic you wont be on the list.

With the search problems they've had for months now I've seen pretty regular cases of places not coming up in search when I know they are there. Oddly enough it seems to be related to where you are at in world. Thought maybe LL was culling some of the search results to minimize the database load, but that's just a wild assed guess.

There is currently a problem searching for more than one word. So, if searching for my store "Musical Alchemy" it will list all places with the word "alchemy." Basically, its borked.

I don't think it's anything to do with the change in the way search works as I didn't make my place available in "search places" until after the change.
I didn't list under classified, just under "places" via the about land function, and yes my traffic is very low, but was searchable earlier on today. It just disapeared later on in the day.
Will need to keep an eye on it over the next few days and see if things improve.

Well things don't seem right at all. Just logged off for the night after trying a few keyword searches in places. Only 24 places came up when I searched for "design". I'm sure that can't be right. Definately should be at least 25 'cos I wasn't listed there! Only 11 when I typed "newbie"! What gives???

Listing your land in Search isn't the same as paying for a Classified. You pay X amount of bucks to have your place listed in the Classifieds tab of the search window. To list your information on the land tools will make it show up on the Places tab. Check to see how you've listed it and check the appropriate tab for it.

Good luck!

Yes its probably from low traffic. Only a certian # of results come up with that method and if youre low in traffic youre off the list once somene bumps you

its random in who it bumps, though.

I used to have this problem.

So, with this in mind, do you think I'd be better off placing a classified ad instead of advertising in search places? Search places is 30L$ a week whereas classified is 50L$, is this correct?

But atleast you`ll actually be on the list. :D
