Why cant I find some first land someone was talking about?

I am trying to find some 1st land that I was told to buy so I can only pay 512 Linden Dollars instead of expensive prices. But i cannot seem to find any and cant get any help in the Live help window.

First land is gone.......

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the First Land program has been discontinued. That opportunity (slim though it may have been) is no longer available to new residents.

First land is no more. Taken away by Linden Labs because it was not profitable and they could not manage abuses. You got screwed Sensual.

And yet, even in the latest 1.14.0 (1) viewer, if you go to Search --> Land Sales, you can set "All Types" to "First Land". I wonder how many people who haven't got the memo are forlornly clicking away, refreshing the display several times a day.

I think they've got their bots doing that for them by now.

It may still be available occasionally to the quickest bots though

So you saw first land advertised in SL, came to SL, and found that first land had been 'discontinued,' sorry, but you're welcome to stay and spend your money?

I'd call that: Bait-and-Switch.

Someone should have thought to update the official information files when the decision to discontinue first land was made.

I have to admit part of the lure for me was First Land too. Don't get me wrong, I still find lots to enjoy and have picked up some "moderately" priced land but I can't help feeling that paying to upgrade my membership was a bit of a jip.

same issue after several days in sl and wanted to get first land and finding non, instead i`ve bough some land and are upto 14336m2, if u really want land, 512 isn`t much

Not a lie...it existed up until recently.

no, it is a lie because i was led by sl to believe if i went premium there would be a first-time land owners programme, even though there wasnt one at the time it was being promoted.
in fact, it is still being promoted.

Promoted where, and by whom? The Knowledge Base and official blog clearly state that the program was discontinued in February.

Premium members are still able to hold up to 512m without paying monthly tier, but that's the extent of the 'promotion' I've seen.

There's always been confusion over "Tier 0" entitlements.

Even back in 2003, I wasn't sure if I would have to pay $5 a month more on top of premium membership to own land.

The first 512sqm of "land allocation" (the right to own land) is included in the standard Premium membership. If you want more than 512sqm, you have to pay land use fees for additional "land allocation"

Used or not, you pay premium + tier, according to whatever subscription plan you have selected.

You Must downgrade your tier yourself, it does not automatically drop when the amount of land you hold goes below a tier level. If it did, people that buy and sell land regularly would probably have to re-confirm tiering up between purchases.

"FIRST LAND" was an opportunity, not a guarantee, to buy new land directly from LL at a discounted rate, IF it was available. They released new first land intermittantly... and unfortunately, most of it ended up in land baron hands rather quickly. Either they created alts and harvested it, or paid off landless players to buy first land and sell it to them at a slight mark-up.

In any case, the "FIRST LAND" system was, apparently, horribly abused, and ended because it wasn't helping newbies, and it was helping people that are already profiting off of SecondLife disproportionately.

first land is being promoted as a benefit of going premium.
if you do not believe me go register a new av like a noob would and see for yourself. firstland is used as an upsell and referenced in the tutorial/help island and is even mentioned in the client.
