Hi all. I have been in sl since February and am enjoying myself and meeting good friends.
I was hoping maybe some of you would like to share interesting places or landmarks with me? Places that either have a wow factor or a uniqueness to it. Places that are fun and of interest or even educational.
I have easily found shopping areas. I do try and search but mostly shopping places show up. Maybe I am using the search wrong but this is what I get. Also, I don't want any "sex" places. Those too are way too easy to find in the search. (Especially when you don't want them.) lol
So what are some of the spots you really enjoyed going to? Please share your finds!
Thanks all!

You should surf over to the events forum. Someone has requested nominations for the most beautiful place in SL. I'm sure you would enjoy visiting any and all of the nominations. /110/b6/171275/1.html

hmm, i like exploring and have found many interesting places if You go to search and type in "elves" you get several beautifully done sims and role play areas if thats what You like
i currently, am enjoying visiting Midian City which is similar to sin city(to me at least) and is very enjoyable(make sure You wear the visitor titler, and read the rules!).
i guess i should ask what exactly are You looking for?

The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

I'm becoming a fan of Midian City. Good build with vampyre catacombs below in the sewers and Neko catwalks above. Nexus Prime is pretty nifty too. Dont's fall! The buildings are super tall, but lots below too.

One of the most scenic places in all of SL has to be Bliss Gardens. The place is huge and has spectacular waterfalls, amazing lighting, incredible views. Hands down one of the most romantic spots around (my mate who loves waterfalls and natural settings was blown away--she later told me that our date to Bliss was one of the reasons she fell in love with me). For a fun place to explore, especially with a special someone, you can't beat Bliss.
For a good time activity try Abbott's Aerodrome. Abbott's has skydiving (something I'd never try in RL, but is a blast in SL), airplanes for sale, a blimp tour and a bunch more.
Those are just 2 quickies to try off the top of my head, I'm sure others will have great ideas for you as well.
Have a great time exploring!

Thanks so much for all who replied! I will be sure to go exploring today! This doesn't mean I don't want more. Please keep em coming if you have a good place to see. This venture can be sports related, arts related, music related etc., etc..
Hope this helps others have a little fun exploring as well.

I'm at work so I can't give you a specific landmark, but search for "Flintstones." There's a rather large and very well-done Town of Bedrock. There is also a recreation of Gotham City somewhere. I'm still trying to find more myself. These kinds of areas are what really make SL cool to me, and unfortunately LL hasn't made it exactly easy to find them. You have to get lucky with the keywords you choose to search with, and I'm sure there's a lot of cool places that don't even show up on it. In the case of Bedrock, it's not a place the average person would happen upon because it's about 200m up in the air

Had a peek at the new Myst place recently, couldn't stay long, but it certainly gives a WOW factor and a appetite for the game.

Thanks a lot everyone! I see there are LOTS of places to see in SL. I just wish the search would be a bit better or have a better filter.
Anyone else have places? If so, it's not too late to jump in and share. =))
