What is the reference point for coordinates?

Hi,

I have a group of unlinked prims (but I guess the question is relevant to a linked set too), for example, a large house. I right-click one of the prims, select Edit, and while the Edit window is open I drag a box around all the prims to select them all. I now want to move the collection up to a specific height, say 100m.

My question is, what does the height of the collection, before the move, (the blue or Z-Axis) refer to? The bottom-most point of the bottom-most prim? The centre of gravity of the collection? Or what? Same question for the red and green (X and Y) axes?

Thanks in advance

It's the exact middle of the root prim of the linkset. The root prim is the one you did select last before linking them, shown with yellow outlines when editing.

Also, if you try and send unlinked items a specific direction using the number input on the build menu, the only prim that will move is the root prim. If you want to send a collection up 100m, say, you have to either drag them while in edit or they have to be linked.

For UNLINKED prims it's the middle distance between the centers of the two furthest prims of each plane.
