Just installed, went in to fix my preferences the way I like them. No option for voice chat. Sad.

Oh, did not know it was supposed to be in question format.

I'll take "How come they didn't add voice with the sculpties? For 100 Alex"

Still buggy ;) that, and it looks like in the recent beta they are trying to integrate friends, groups, and voice into the same window, with very un-user-friendly results. Even though I love the voice feature, I'm glad they didn't include the current implementation this update.

Very bad news - love having Chat History and IM separate.

IM and history together is a horrible idea. I hope they change that before it is foisted upon us.

And still no update on the threat to make Class 4 Sim owners foot the bill for voice. The constant work on the feature and no updates on it's cost is not a good sign.

Ya, as a class 4 owner, I'm cutious on that too.

If they want me to pay $295 a month for voice, it better damn well be on a shiny new class 5 server.

Were people expecting voice for this release already? I was under the impression that voice is still in early beta testing and won't be on the main grid for months yet.

I was under the same Impression.

They just added new features to the Beta voice a couple of days ago, didnt they? Youd think those at least would still need tested.

I think they will make a big deal when its time for voice, I dont think it will get snuck in on us.

Linden Lab Delaying Voice In Second Life For 'A Few Months' (http://www.informationweek.com/blog/main/archives/2007/05/linden_lab_dela.html)

From: someone
Slap on the wrist to Linden Lab for releasing the news in this fashion. Guys, if you're going to delay a major feature, just announce it. Don't release a laundry list of other features you are announcing, and leave it to the Second Life community to -- literally -- fill in the blanks. Harrumph.
Good thing the press is starting to figure out how LL works :p.

Agreed. That merged window takes up twice as much screen real estate as the current version, and because I can't reduce its height, it means i have a choice between the window, or actually being able to see the people I am talking to. Not good.
