Myself and my SL Fiancee are in the process of setting the date for our Wedding.
I have no problem with how to send the proposal but I was wondering how long after acceptance does the change show in your profile? If automated I would assume pretty quickly but if some poor soul sits in a darkened room changing profiles on a 486SX I would guess longer.
I ask because it would be nice if we could time it so the change happens on the day of the wedding. A day or two before might be OK but after the day would be a shame.

If she accepts your proposal, it's an instant change on both your profiles. Has nothing to do with slow or fast hardware on the client side. The proposal you send is only valid for a few days IIRC.

You could do it the moment you exchange your vows, if you wanted to.
Offering Partnership generates an in-world message that must be accepted, as well as an e-mail. Accepting the in-world offer makes it so on both profiles. From what I recall when my Partner accepted, it was almost instantaneous after their accepting the offer.

Thanks for the quick answers. If we go for the full wedding thing maybe we could incorporate it in the Ceremony which I think would be nice.
Anyway, thanks again
