I have a friend who owns land which has been deeded to a group. The problem is that the owner of the group left without a word and now he wishes to make a new land group. This will give him full rights to the land group. There are two members of the group, the other is his alt. He is already an officer of the original land group.
How does he go about changing the land group from old to his new one without loosing the land or having to pay more for tier fees?

By no means an expert on the whole group land thing, from what I've read in other posts, he needs to set the land to sell to him specifically for 0L$, then buy it. THen deed it to the new group. Be careful that he makes sure that it's set to sell to a specific person only or he could lose the land quickly. Since his deeded land to the group is already part of his tier, I don't believe buying it back will add to his tier, but again, I'm not an expert. A
