Cheap Casino Land to Flood Real-Estate Market?

Casinos have no viable business model anymore, so does this we are going to get a bunch of land dumped on the real-estate market? Will this mean a crash in land prices? Should I sell my land now?

Before selling their real estate a casino owner would most likely try to repurpose their parcel.

None the less, this may be the time to make some sweet deals

Quick, everybody go around to every casino you can find and AR them for gambling! Let's get the cheap-casino-land-sales ball rolling!

a couple of things that could happen:
people with many casinos and land could refocus on either another business model or move into the realestate market using existing land: large casino plots go under the knife and four 1028s pop up at outrageous prices. large landholders buy up some either because they border or for prims, adcutter buys up one for a single 512 to resell and a 512 cut into 16m adplots. or a 4096 is cut into 512's and sold for 12/m2- youd still find them being bought for adplots later. worse yet, the casino guy could even lay out a future adplot grid and make a few 1024 look really nice, with a central park and fountain and whatnot. of course later the park would become a 512 adfarm priced for 30k.

bear in mind that casino operators arent known as people that care about fair use of resources (lag, camping) and havent felt any remorse for angering a large number of people, so if they do move into the land market expect that the casino owner will do everything he can to reap the greatest rewards from his land....

Most of the poker houses I know of are going to repurpose the sim. Night club, shop rentals, camping chairs. Enjoy your new lag!

No. There may be a correction, but land brokers will absorb the cheaper plots. LL has released a whole continent's worth of land this year and it did not cause a crash. Hang in there.

yes. when buying property always do so with property lines enabled. you will find 16m plots laying dormant EVERYWHERE, even next to your own property. now people are even prelaying entire adgrids on new regions. in the future when things have settled plan on the ads to come up, priced at 5k per 16.

you can enable property lines in the 'view' menu.

I've seen this when hunting for land. A new sim will be sold, and if it has roads the 16m ad plots will be cut up seemingly before even the first large parcel is sold. AFTER it the sim is mostly full, THEN the ads go in.

16m ad spammers are the scum of the earth. Can we ban them?

Maybe we can figure a way to define them as gamblers?

The casino owners will probably move into ad farms.

Ad farms with ads for online casinos where they get a referral bonue for someone clicking on there link.

We already have those and LL didn't consider them worthy of removal in the past .

yep, basically roadways and suchlike through sims will make breaking the land up into 512K parcels ( or multiples thereof) leave plots free.

Whether people are breaking up 512sqm's into 16's I don't know ( seems a strange practice to me if they are *shrugs* ) but certainly back when I started you'd see little 16sqm plots in corners where the roads meant full 512sqm plots wheren't possible.

If your there first usually those plots would be set at the normal rate so people could buy them for prim land but not sure what the practice is now for land barons buying mainland sims on auction.

even if the casino owners sell their land at a good price, i predict the landbots will nab it all up before we can even get a chance to look at the sale price.
