Dearly Darlings,

I just walked into my SL Grandson's home in PG land to find a photographer taking pictures of a woman in his bed. My Grandson has a home in a Mature area near his office for his lady friends. I think this was truely dispicable behavior. Apparently this fellow has been taking women to his home and doing GOD knows what. I was not happy with what I saw. I really do hate those red lines...every day I get a little closer to putting them up! I was so angry. I booted and banned them on the spot. Did I go a little overboard?

Ever Yours,

Mrs. showdog Tiger

Nope, they were broadly offensive and deserved to be ejected and banned.

Not overboard AT ALL.
They were the rude ones and deserved no better than they got, Unfotunately, they are unlikely to learn anything from it, and will probably just relocate to some other unsuspecting persons land.

Not at all.

FWIW, I (well, it's actually my in-world mommy's) use a security orb at home. Not a perfect solution, but a lot better than rezzing in to find people doing what they shouldn't inside your home.

I can never tell how serious any of your posts are, Showdog, but if I give you benefit of the doubt I'd say kick/ban was fully appropriate. Please don't enable access lists. Evict individual transgressors instead of punishing the rest of the grid with more banlines.

IF its owned land there are a lot of security scripts out there too that give a warning to intruders and punt them after they loiter too long (either just ejecting from land, or teleporting them home). I generally use this solution myself to prevent having to use red tape.

I would have asked them to please leave and not return, im not one to ban or eject except when i get some lip service back.

I also find that a LOCKED door is less expensive and just as effective at keeping someone out of you house.

Locking the door to your house or using a private teleporter to your skybox is cheap and effective AND it doesnt interfere with air traffic or curious people just passing through.

I will say though that a savy player could teleport in by using the coordinates, but i suspect thats fairly rare, at least more rare than someone stumbling in and finding a "fun bed" to comit some broadly offensive activity.

Of course lagging sims down with needless security orbs who are set to orbit/tp home everyone who comes/flies along is so much better .

Add all of your neighbours, and then talk to them and ask if they have any regular visitors and let them know they can just approach you if they need someone added to the access list and the only people your access restriction will bother are people who have no business being on your land in the first place.

Humm...I don't Agree With Locked Doors in PG Land

Dearly Darlings,

For me the whole point of PG Land is to make new people and other visitors feel welcome in SL. That does not, however, give them Carte Blanche to perform sex acts or pose for pornography in what I consider a public place. I love meeting new people. It is a great way to see what all the young people are doing in a safe fashion. I don't feel quite so old learning from all the folks I meet at my home. If Maneo and I decided to seriously move our marriage into SL we'd expand our land holdings to include a Mature home...That is highly unlikely. Not our cup of tea. The sick part is that is was not a "fun" bed as you call it. It really bothered me that at least one avatar lied to sucker another newer avatar into following them to a home to take lewd pictures. If he were a dog he would NOT be in my breeding program.

As for the back talk...I have to admit there was none. The "Photographer" was off line faster than you can say "Tuesday Morning." The young lady in question has since contacted me and appologized. Seems he fed her a serious line about modeling work. Just once I wish younger girls would not listen to the "Come see my etchings" pitch. Nother ever good comes from that. As much as I adore My Maneo (been together for over 30 years) even he would admit that some men are pathological liers when it comes to sex.

RL/SL we have always welcomed people to our home. I really don't want to put out signs of "Abandon hope all ye who enter here." I guess I just am really getting old and crabby. I really try to be tolerant and have met some very nice people who have explained SMBD and Gor society...I shall not join those I might add, but I know a little more about them.

Part of the responsibilty for the fight for all freedom is allowing other people to be free. However anyone's right to swing a punch should end before they strike another person's nose.

You all have a lovely evening!

Ever Yours,

Mrs, Showdog Tiger
