Anyone else having this issue? I've had it for two days now. I see blue and red "cone" like things floating up from me, other people and I think all scripted items. The red is the scripted items and blue is people. It's rather annoying. Anyone have any ideas?

You've turned on 'show updates'.

Turn on debug mode (ctrl alt D) and you can enable/disable 'show updates' from the Client menu that is now available (I think).

Anyway that's what's going on.

Blue and Red Cones

Yes, it's Show Updates. Mine activated without me enabling them. I did not press Ctrl-Alt-Shift-U. My friend and I were playing around, and I sat in a new chair she bought that had some attacks built into it. I sat in the chair, was engulfed in flames, and was TP'd after a short while to ground level (we were at about 700m up). I tp'd back up to her, but a short time after that i noticed the cones. Drove me nuts ...

Reinstalled the viewer, didn't help. And this was a reinstall in which I made sure the entire ...\SecondLife dir was gone. That made me think it was a server side problem. But then went to First Look, problem wasn't there... , k, maybe a client side problem? Maybe client settings are stored somewhere other than the SecondLife Program dir? Discrepancy between how the Regular Viewer and First Look handle some data? Day later went back to the regular viewer, cones still there, but noticed Show Updates was checked....hmm what's that... unchecked it... cones went away.

Yes, it is possible that I really did press Ctrl-Alt-Shift-U, I just didn't realize it. This doesn't explain why reinstalling didn't get me back to original settings though.

The whole episode was filed in the "meh, more SL weirdness, nvm" category, until I saw this post. Maybe I'm not crazy, and maybe there is a bug where Show Updates is triggered on the client inadvertently....baffling. Or maybe both you and I Dalian have fat fingers that can press Ctrl-Alt-Shift-U accidentally... and no... I'm not prone to mashing my keyboard with my fists, out of frustration or otherwise...
