I made the mistake of upgrading to the voice client and I hate this new huge communication window. Voice is so bugged and since I use skype I have no interest in this voice client. Sadly, I dont have a copy of the old prevoice client saved to install.
Too bad LL doesnt provide a DL for the older pre voice client.
Does anyone have a copy of the old pre voice client that they can send me over yahoo or skype? Please IM me inworld if you do.

My fear is that this is a temporary fix though and one day we will be forced to download a voice client. All bug fixes and patches will go to the voice client too. When I had the voice client running I crashed frequently and the lock ups were unbearable. It was not my PC locking up because I could do other things on my PC and only SL was locked up. I have a two 512 NVidia cards and 4 gig RAM....if that is not enough for SL then what is enough. I uninstalled the voice client and reinstalled the old prevoice client. What a relief. All crashes and lockups were gone, performance was better, and I was thrilled to get rid of the cumbersome communication window. We need a dual track client system now. I read that at the end of the year there will be a charge for voice. I sure wont be one to pay for it; I want to avoid it altogether. I dont mind new features, in fact I welcome them, but the features have to make sense and not add more performance problems. Who asked for voice in SL especially when Skype served us well and we were crying out for bug fixes before new features were added. Now we have voice dumped on us and it is buggy and has just added more problems. |
