First, I lost my building, then I could not put another out, then, I could not change groups, then I got logged, now I log back in and find that I am missing thousands of dollars in my account balance (I now have $0, 15 minutes ago I had a great deal more), still cannot see myself because clothing will not download, packet loss is around 90%, and....... What the hell? I know it's not just me, because Korea was packed with others whose sims had crashed. Anybody know just what the heck is going on? Anyone?

But before it crashed, there were easily 50 people there, most of them talking about weird shit happening and sim crashes everywhere.

I think the grid is down now for new logins. I lost my ability to do much of anything, attempted to log out and back on, but it's closed now. Hopefully there will be an announcement soon.

Hopefully there will be an announcement soon. Having been here for getting on two years now... am I the only one that has noticed that almost every Sunday performance is somewhere between slow and non-existent? There are a huge number of grid outages that fall on Sundays and even when the grid is up, to me, Sunday is a day of outrageous lag, packet loss and slow textures. Is it a wacky theory to think that all the other corporate customers of the data farm that LL uses might be backing up their data on a Sunday (as many corporations do), and that the massive flow of terabytes of data back and forth might have something to do with the "Sunday Blues"?

Dianne, I suspect it may have more to do with an increased number of simultaneous logins to SL than activity on other colocated servers. Sundays are a good day for playing SL, and with so many accounts now, there are a lot more people ready to come in.
Personally, I'm suspicious of the scalability of SL as it is currently set up.

also consider that even if SL's datacenter ISN't backing up then... the fact that many datacenters are, might be contributing to major portions of the internet (remember that thing?) being generally crappier on sundays.

There were hundreds of little yellow disks spinning around all over the place and it was laggy as heck, probably because of them. Someone's idea of fun I suppose.

Yeah, it is a full on grid attack again. Stupid script kiddies and their inability to do anything actually interesting.
Maybe they think this makes them look 1337 or something, but they just look like script kiddies to me.
