Hi all :))
My gestures have always worked and yes they are activated!
I always use the GESTURES bit at the right hand side of chat bar to make them sound.
The tall long thing.
After the last update they won't work!
I have deactivated and re activated but no joy :(((
Anyway when i click on gestures in tab(think its tools) at the top of the screen the gestures work fom that!
But its so much easier to use the way i used to use!
Any ideas why they work one day,i updated last week and they won't work now?
Help people,its very frustrating :))
Thanks for reading
love

You must have updated to the 1.21.2 release candidate viewer? This is a known bug in that viewer. You can edit the gesture and change the capital letters to lower case and it should work. Or, you can go back to using the standard release client 1.20.15.

arrghh the double negative is hurting my eyes!!!

To answer your question gestures have always been problematic in SL as far as I can remember. If it started happening recently it could be asset server problems that have been going on in the last week or so.
Try disabling them all and then re-enabling them.

Often a laggy sim will be the cause of gestures not working as each played gesture goes into a queue of gestures to be performed for the sim. If the queue fills up too much the sim cannot clear them off in a timely fashion and they lag, sometimes they can lag by minutes.

EDIT: Kathy's scenario sounds more plausible - I was not aware of a new bug in the prerelease viewer.

Well if they actually taught English in schools these days you would realize the double negative is perfectly acceptable and what the main topic actually says is,

there gestures are working the best they ever have been.

A double negative does not cancel each other out,as some poorly written text books tell you, it emphasizes a stronger feeling.

She is not unbeautiful actually means she is an 11 on a scale of 1-10;

I find it ironic that you are passing comment on English usage when your own erroneous use of it palpably demonstrates that it is not your native language.

"She is not unbeautiful" is a rather clumsy and old-fashioned way of saying "She isn't butt-ugly".

Certainly not an 11

The double negative is fine if it is intentional.

Anyway, we all knew what the OP meant.

I would have said something like this, although I don't think an incorrect usage of 'there, their, or they're' indicates that English is not the poster's native language.
