Today on different occasions I seen 5-6 different people in my shop. But I noticed the traffic numbers do not change on the land. How do you get the Traffic numbers to record visitors?

Traffic numbers aren't ever changing, yesterday's total traffic number will be showing today and today's tomorrow.

So the numbers arent a running count? They only show the traffic for the previouse day? If thats the case I guess I will always be at the bottom of the search!

The traffic count is 1 point, per avatar, per minute. It's either for the previous 24 hours, or a "rolling total" over 24 hours (I'm not sure which).

But yes, you are right, it is not possible to "save up" your traffic over time. If the top locations seem to have impossibly high traffic figures, remember that some are camping locations.
