I am downgrading to basic (effective June 1  and when I try to buy private island land, the program will not allow it. Any one know why? |

Does it give you any particular reason why it isn't allowing you to buy the land? An error message or something?
There was a bug a while ago where the program wasn't allowing non-premium users to buy estate land but they corrected that bug about a month ago (there was a blog post about it).

I have never been premium and not having the problem as purchased two parcels in the last couple of weeks, one of them only yesterday. I wonder if it's a glitch due to you in the process of downgrading?

Yes, the land lord has rented to me until the problem is sorted out. I sent a help request to LL. Very frustrating. I think it is due to the account downgrading.

I manage a few sims and have seen this problem many times - this could be a bug.
Contact Billing support and they will straighten it out for you.
If you are in a hurry and need a workaround, ask the estate owner deed the land to a group that you create (the estate owner needs to join your group, deed the land to the group, and can then leave the group).

I contacted LL support by phone. You can't purchase land while downgrading. The only fix is to have them change your account back to premium, purchase the land and downgrade again ( or stay at premium). This applies to all land purchases, private sim or mainland.

Yes, phone support was speedy. six minutes on hold and a two minute conversation to take care of the matter. The change was immediate ( I was inworld at the time, didn't even have to log out).
On the other hand, I have not recieved any reply to either email I sent to support or billing two days ago, apart from the automated response of reciept.
Got problems I guess you have to pick up the phone.
