permission problems giving items to a friend...

i am having problems giving items to a friend. the obejct is made of 48 linked prims each with a script

I set the persmissions to copy/modify/resell all so they are ticked, and i gave him permission to edit all my objects in the calling card/friends list, i want my friend to be able to copy the object at will so he can have as many of the objects as he likes, and we need him to be able to edit the script inside, but no matter what i do i just cannot allow him to be able to copy and reproduce the object AND edit the script, we always end up in a situation where he can do one, but not the other... help!

I searched the forums but to no avail, one idea was to check that the objects are not locked, and i can confirm they are not... we tried creating a group and sharing it... he could edit the object but not copy... the copy button in this state is greyed out somewhat, but is ticked...

baffling... and very fraustrating .... I would be grateful for any ideas, thanks

You should go prim by prim and script by script and texture by texture and make sure everything is M:Y, C:Y, T:Y. It may be as simple as one texture on a tiny prim way in the middle of the build which is no transfer that is causing it.

Or it could be a SL hiccup.

also minor bug I read a day or two back .. buttons can give the wrong state; a build was unlit for example but building was possible, but probably as said, there's one item dragging the groups permision down.
