Do you use Dazzle or the 1.19.1?
If so,do you create items for avatars that require being attached (such as clothing, shoes, hair etc)

Do you experience the bug where it will not attach properly, and goes to the default hand location or previously attached location?

If so, please vote for a fix at
http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5336
(for the 1.19.1 version)

http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-5087
(for dazzle)

Thank you for your time.

If you have experienced this bug, have you discovered a work around for it?

Thank you!

My friends think I'm nuts complaining about this!
In the Dazzle version, I get the attach prob and! or thrown off my builders' plat on attach.
New prims, no scripts, link, go to attach to place I want and nope,
take out of inventory, put on an edit stand, try again and *woosh* I'm hurtled!

I've had this happen once. It was in the 1.19.0 Windlight viewer. So it would seem that the problem is not related directly to Dazzle, or to 1.19.1.

What's funny is I had made something, was dealing w/ this problem again, in Dazzle.
Gave the object to a friend, they attached NPs to the spot I had wanted to on themselves, gave back and it attached to where I had wanted.

yeah I guess on their viewer version it saved the position of the attached object correct and when it was passed back to you it worked for you as well

I'm experiencing this problem as well... clothing items are attaching to their "default" position on my AV... you can't change them to another attachment point. The JIRA says this is resolved? What the heck is going on?

some guy is closing all the duplicates to the issue, which only causes confusion to folks like me who are new to the jira

I guess just follow the links

(pet peeve is when ppl do that GRRR)

I just reverted back to 19.0 I think is the version and it seems to work so far (was able to attach the new kids boots properly)

We had the prob today in Phobos whilst rehearsing, but upon flying to Europa were able to attach. Not great for a performance though, as-is ;D

I just installed 1.19.1 too today..why?...cause I had no choice... they make us have to use it! Now after spending hours making new hair, I have the same attachment problem...Why do they have to break what doens't need fixing? Now how long are we going to have to wait for them to fix this? I am pissed? Hell ya!

Why should we have to vote for a fix on a version that should never have been released in the first place?

This is not the only prolbem...the minimized inventory does not say where you put it.
SL is memory hog...they should be working on fixing that, not breaking the rest of it!

Rhaorth, how did you revert back to the earlier 1.19.0 (80044)? When I try to run it, just keeps trying to download 1.19.1 and the alert on the connection screen says it's manditory.

I removed all my other instances of SL, and downloaded and installed the 1.19.0

no idea why it doesn't give me that update thing

try removing any other instances you have first

1.19.1 RC is a mandatory update if you are using an older WindLight version. (There are ways around it, as others have posted.) It is normally true that when a new First Look comes out, LL requires you to update from older ones because they want people to test the new one, and the WindLight RC replaces the previous WindLight First Look viewers.

1.19.0, the current main viewer, is not yet a required update, but as of Wednesday it will be a required update for all main viewers that still work (1.18.2, 1.18.3, and 1.18.5). So far, there is no required update from Dazzle.

It won't let you run the old First Look WindLight (whatever its version was, 1.19.0.mumble), and will force the update; I suspect the same for the older RC. But I'm still running 1.18.5 (3) from November in one installation, and the current official released version is 1.19.0.5.

Yes I was on the previous Windlight 1.19.0 (80044). When ever I try to run it, it wants to do an update. If you click cancel, the whole thing closes.

I did a test in version 1.18.5 (3) attaching my new hair, then went back to RC to check if it still attaches to my skull. It does. So if you are using RC, just close it and open 1.18.5(3) or other working viewer to attach, then you can go back to RC.

Has anyone had trouble bringing money in from inworld? I tried, but it keeps telling me it can't authenicate me and to go to support for info. I can't find any info there. I had to go to the website to do it. It must be another 1.19.1 RC bug.

I'm going to try some third party viewers.
