Recommendations? I nominate MidSomer for best garden spot, and Nanogunk for prettiest quiet beach. Forests? Mountains? Pretty, busy spots? Pretty, deserted spots? Places that perhaps will let me rez a beach blanket for more than ten minutes would be good...

Midnight Reflections. The place that convinced me that SL was worth the trouble.
And Svarga....a very creative place.

Good luck on finding natural spots with 99% of SL devoted to commercial greed. Many people may refer you to a "nice spot" but you will find that a landmark to a nice spot is nothing more than an advertizment to some lame shop.

You've no doubt seen the Lost Gardens of Apollo. Breathtaking build! However it's a romantic spot so I always feel like I'm supposed to be -- you know, with somebody. I usually go as a butterfly so I kind of blend in with the scenery.

I'll second Svarga, though it is a little on the weird side. :-)

Off topic, but who comes up with these names? Nanogunk? I wouldn't want to work in their Dept. of Tourism! -- KC

The Gardens of Holt used to be nice, with the Riverside Restaurant, where I used to eat. But it's gone now - boohoo!!!!!

I was at the House of Sweden sim yesterday, and was struck by how "natural" the landscape looked. Definitely a place I'd take a virtual picnic basket.

The free virtual IKEA loot was a bonus :-)

Svarga has been mentioned twice, and deserves a third mention :)

I also am very fond of the Support for Healing gardens.
