I can't buy! I'm using the same UK Visa debit card I used yesterday afternoon to buy currency. Is anyone else having difficulties?

I've had problems recently whereby I've had transactions fail due to problems and then when I log in an hour or two later, the transaction has gone through.
I feared I might end up getting two or three transactions authorised (as I'd tried ingame and via the website) but both times I've had this problem they've only charged me once.
I'm in the UK too.
