I want to transfer everything on the land to the group as well; how does this work? I did a trial run and the objects stayed the property of the resident so I couldn't set the autoreturn without everything going away.
I have big builds on the land I want to transfer to the group and I really don't want to have them get messed up. Or is it that I just can't have autoreturn on Group land?
Thanks for any help.
And I really did look around for the answer but I find the whole groups thing really confusing...

And I really did look around for the answer but I find the whole groups thing really confusing... First, make sure next owner permissions are set where you want them. If you want group members to be able to modify the object, check modify, etc. *Note: Only group members with the ability to modify group items will be able to do this. Joe Schmoe in the VIP tag from XYZ Chowhounds probably doesn't have this checked. But XYZ Chowhounds owners and possibly officers do have it checked. It's in the group menu somewhere. Second, if you built them, make sure you have copies in your inventory for the "just in case" scenario. Third, each item you are transferring to the group must be transferable, including the scripts inside anything. Fourth, items need to be on group deeded land or they may be autoreturned. I'm not sure about group set land but I know for sure on deeded land they won't be autoreturned if transferred to the group. I also know that when I transferred an object to my group on my land, since I was no longer the owner, my land autoreturned it, and since I was the last known avatar owner of that object, it ended up in my L&F folder and no longer part of the group. Fifth, right click the items, click more, click deed to group. If anyone can be more helpful on this, please feel free to bash my post. A

Thanks Abba; I appreciate this a lot. I think some of the problem is that some of the objects are not transferable; that was what I was missing.
Since I'm creating the group to protect my inventory in case SL messes up and boots me and my stuff as per an earlier posting by someone, I guess I'll just leave the objects alone and transfer each one as I can or back them up somehow.
Thanks again.
