I have a piece of land that I only used for prims (it is the same Sim as my main piece of land.

Now I want to use that piece of land. But the land isn't flat, there are holes in and small hills. For my use it needs it needs to be flat.

But what I do, I don't get it nicely flat. I use "edit terrain" and lower/higher and flatten. But I lower one part, the other goes up... and so on and so on.

So, are there trick to make the land fast and easy flat? :P

Rez a prim and make it into a square shape about 2m thick. Put a 'land flattener' script inside of it and it will do it`s magic. Just slowly move the prim across the land you want to flatten- it will lower and raise the land to all one level.

I guess youre on the mainland with a small plot of land? Its worth a try, it might not smooth all the way out, but worth a try.

Search seems to suggest there's some to be had from Yadni's.

Right click land, choose 'edit terrain' check the 'select land' option then by clicking and dragging your mouse 'select' the land you wish to work on. It will be highlighted in yellow. After selecting the land to be altered choose 'flatten', or possibly 'smooth land' and then click the 'apply to selection' button. You may have to click this a few times.

This has often worked very well for me and is what it is meant for. At times however I can change, flatten or smooth my land only so much due to the limits put on it, which I find frustrating.

My First Land plot is on the side of a hill so I have slopes both sides. I levelled as much as I needed by Nyx' method but couldn't get it entirely smooth. However, when I put my freebie house on it which stands on a plinth including the front verandah, it sinks into the ground thus giving an illusion of foundations.
When I teleport to a site the rezzing is slow enough sometimes to see the rough terrain first, then the panels of floor form so I think most go by this route of a floor prim.

I also bought a second plot Morwen for the prim count. It's neighbour has his ground higher with a house edged almost to his boundary. Whilst my land is flat to the boundary, the violent incline to his house is on his land meaning it is suspended in mid -air at the end.

Tonight I shall raise my plot for aesthetics but might experiment with a retaining wall, stone perhaps, just for a laugh.
