Tomorrow I "Marry". I have built a private club for the Ceremony and Reception. Because we chose not to be married at a wedding chapel we had to write our own vows. I will post mine after the Wedding but we found it rather difficult to know what to say although it was nice to do ourselves. I thought that by posting mine and if others post theirs it might help others to figure out what to say although of course everyone is different

For the length of time that I may live in SL, under the gracious permission of the Lindens, I vow that I will never marry anyone!

.. To ignore your flaws in favor of online romaticism and being hyptnotized by hours staring at you on the computer screen
.. To make unrealistic reductions in my Real Life activities to be online and with you as much as posible.
.. To only have virtual sex with you and pretend like I never have Rl sex with anyone.
.. To intermix all our possesions becuase our love is the eternal flame, and we will never part.
.. To not notice your online time gets less and less.
.. To not notice that you seem to always log on right after I do, Like somehow your watching from somewhere.
.. To not notice the same two names showing up on the visitor counter even though I dont know who they are and one of the avatars profile pics strongly resembles your avatar.
..To not make remarks when you keep getting sick and cant log in at all for days at a time.

.. To be completely dumbfounded when you break up with me over email and dont log on again for a month, and return all my stuff and ban me from your parcel. And the avatar trespaser who did look like you now has picks of that other woman and the statements of love are almost exactly the same as what you used to say about me.

Just deleted what I wrote to avoid what would have received an abuse report on the grid.

I'll keep it short. Starting a double post tomorrow where I will include what I say at he wedding. Some respect? Remember that some get married on SL because they love the person as I do both in RL and SL. This was not a lets take the piss out of love thread!

Congradulations on your wedding - I was not reffering to Your bride to be in any way.

You asked for wedding vows. My personal beleifs on weddings in SL are highly jaded - Hence my post.

It is not my responsibility no one chose to share pleasant vows on your thread. I was being sarcastic. But I was also being serious.

Since well over 90% of all SL partnerships are short lived your going to get more people who become jaded and less who have had wonderful experinces.

Even those who have had wonderful experiences probably had some bad ones.

Sorry, last night was a hard time for me. I said things I shouldn't have.

So back to the topic.

We took the first part from the theme to "Robin Hood Prince of Thieves", I used to be a DJ and at that time for a while everyone seemed to want that for the first dance so .... Second bit is Joe Cocker "You Are So Beautiful" after that something we made up ourselves. Mirina is Spanish and I am in the UK hence the two languages but they both mean the same thing because everything was repeated. 5uu5 is the name of the woman who doubled up as Bridesmaid and Best Man. We tried searching the web for RL vows but they didn't suit SL so we started to look at songs. Looks like a lot of typing I know. We both had a notecard so we could just copy/paste into chat.

Re the Timezone problem. In our Timezones we married at 9am/10am (Europe) then a small group went to the The Sublime Restaurant.
We have the main reception at our time 8pm/9pm so both sides of the Atlantic covered, maybe that could be an issue for others too. We repeat the vows for them later.
