My Aunt forgot the password to her SL account.

When going to the login page, you can "click here" if you forgot your password, and it sends you an email to reset your password.

Her email asked for the last amount billed to her Paypal or Credit card by Linden Labs, and since she does not have a form of payment she entered 0.00 but got the message it was wrong.

I just tried it on my account (which also has no payment method) and I got the same email and the same thing happened to me.

Could someone try clicking the password forgot button and try if it works for them?

Or if anyone knows another way to get a lost password please help?

This is the email I got:

The only way around this is to open a ticket or call Support.

Can you open a ticket or call Support if you are a free member?

Also, just wondering if the email for the lost password worked for anyone or if we are filling out the field wrong.

Thanks

It's possible the aunt's web browser has the password for secondlife.com stored and can be made to display it.

If I'm understanding the situation, they can't log in to the secondlife.com web site with their avatar id, and thus to file a support ticket they need to log in as a guest. Is that right?

Here's a link about Basic and Guest tickets:

Actually I just now learned about the Support Ticket, but you are right - she cannot log in.

The main question I had though, is that there is a place you can click if you lost your password, and then it sends you an email to reset it, but the email asks a question and even though we answer the question correctly it says we are wrong.

I can get into my account, I wonder if I can file the ticket for her (that is, if free members can file tickets)

LL developers were drinking the day they designed that process. It always asks about the last billed amount or last transaction amount, etc... but it will not accept an answer of zero when you have no billing info on file. Which is why you must contact them. Since you must log in to file a ticket, your only choice is to call them: 800.294.1067

ETA - it does work correctly if you really have been billed anything.

I've reset password before and it does indeed ask you that question, but it also gives an alternate question. I've it quiz me in multiple choice about people on my friends list. Didn't you get an alternate question?
