Hi,
I have some prims that were given to me by a good friend, who has now left SL. The only permissions I have on these prims is the ability to move them, the ownership is still with my friend (the creator).
I now find I have to move, and I would dearly like to take these prims with me. So my question is, is it possible to move prims across sim borders, if you only have the Move permission, and is there anyway at all to move them to a sim with no borders, such as an isolated private island sim?

No, there is not unless you are the owner. Unless you can "Take" the prims, you are out of luck. Sorry....

So you can't take them into your inventory and re-rez them in the new location?
In that case, you may have invented a fun new game. You can move them from point A to point B IF (and only if) you can find a path that:
- Does not require crossing any parcels that have ban lines to keep you out and
- Does not require crossing any parcels that don't permit object entry from non-authorized persons and
- Does not require crossing any sim boundaries.
The first two are somewhat negotiable. If you encounter a place you absolutely have to cross but which forbids it, you may be able to contact and persuade the owner to temporarily reset the permissions to accommodate you. I believe you can also fly high enough to go over ban lines. The third, though, is a show-stopper.
EDIT: I totally missed where you said you do indeed have to take them across sim borders, in which case, yes, you're out of luck. I'll leave the post up though because my answer may be helpful to others who have a similar issue but without the sim border requirement.
