If you don't want a DJ, all you need to do is put the music stream URL in your About Land in the Media options.
Answer: Free.

That only works if you own land. There are tons of people out there who don't.

From: Cristalle Karami That only works if you own land. There are tons of people out there who don't. You can't stream music onto land not owned either. Or the owner/group member ahs to set the Media URL to the stream's URL anyway, so no matter what, land ownership is involved. @Cherry Errr...I don't think you can sell a radio stream that is already broadcast over the net. However, if you're speaking about streaming just a collage of music from your server, that's another story. Without DJing, or taking requests, I don't really think you'll have much call. I just load up my favorite radio stations and go with that. I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but I'm not really seeing what you're offering (I may need more coffee. It's early for me.). ~Jessy

~Jessy Cherry is asking how much to charge someone else for the use of her land. The original answer "free" is not responsive to that. If she were NPIOF with no SL job, and no private island land, it still would not help her. Cherry, I don't know, but I think 100-200/hour would be fair, depending on what else would be required of you - security, etc.

Told you I needed more coffee lol Depends on the size of the parcel, what is around the area, wether it is an island or mainland, security provided, etc. I think Cristalle's 100-200/hr is a good starting point. Security doesn't mean guards, btw. You can set the land to only allow those designated by the renter before hand. You'd have to list them all, then clear them after, but I think a 50L$ charge for such a service would be okay. Perhaps 25L$ and 5L$ per name after 20? I'd suggest looking at rental prices across the grid. Those prices are per week and per month and used in a totally different way, but I suggest looking at them because you really don't want to wind up more expensive than it would be to jsut rent the land for a week *grins* You might also ask around your friends and see if any are DJs. Work in conjuction with them and let them advertise with you to increase the attractiveness of the deal. I would let them keep their DJing seperate from the rental due to co-ordinating RL times is a pain, not to mention hammering out the details of payment and all. ~Jessy

For reference only, I have a nicely developed environment (Sicilian fishermen town). For use of the main town square or the town theatre, I charge L$2500 for up to two hours, or alternatively - should the event be innovative and have a good marketing plan around it - its absolutely free.

cherry i think the best way to find everything out would be to try to organise an event using others' services.

there are 12305161235691526194601591256345 venues that are nearly always empty. Yep And nearly all of them full of dance pads, stripper poles, escort services, prim dicks, bots ... My place is different to anything else in SL though. I made it to be unique ... people don't like it they don't need to come there, so far everyone loves it and if it's quiet and peaceful there then that suits me. Already had four couples I can safely say got together directly as a result of coming there. That ain't bad for a place I don't personally think is finished The reason clubs are empty is generally because they are looking to make money from avs ... and the avs with money to spend are rarer, already catered to by themselves or friends, and are a lot more picky about what they are prepared to spend their money on. I guess I am catering to myself in many ways with the place but mainly I'd like people to feel like it's a stopoff they can call home. I don't mind newbies (tho noobs will be gently steered and asshats are good stress relief LOL).

Definitely noted for future ref Cristos ... I have actually charged only a little for this time round as it's a friend ... but I will come and have a look Curious to see now!
