blue fog trouble

Ok so I have two sticky issues to deal with here. The first is the blue and red fog issue as I look about while inside SL there seems to be a blue fog that eminates from the waists of other avatars as they move about the various rooms. When standing or sitting still should the avatar do any animantions the blue fog will appear drifting upwards. I f the avatar moves alot while in one place the blue fog will totally obscure the person. Then there is the red fog as object rezz in the red fog will pop up and float upwards if a picture or a screen changes then it does it then as well/

Last I have a house that I am using a friend owns it and doest use it at this time. I purchased a home entertainment system for the wall and put it on the wall the ad said that I didnt have to deed the thing over but evidently I did. The process was completed and the deed transferred and both people that were in there with me we able to see the thing working but all I could see was a black screen and no sound. Oneof them asked me if I could see a movie tab on the bottom of my screen next to the music tab. I cannot see this. I have downloaded the latest version of Quick time and I have uninstalled it several times as well> I have done the same thing with SL itself to try and resolves the issues and nothing changes what am I doing wrong what do I need to do right ...HHHHHEEEEEEELLLLLLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!

PS ....SL you suck for taking away the tech support phone line I have paid the annual premium membership to try and procure help and still nothing and you dont answer the emails in a timely manner.....If only I had paid you in L and not Master Card cause that is about all you are worth right now!!!!

Try clearing the cache and relogging. I had the same thing happen to a friend of mine and that cleared it up. I don't know if it has anything to do with the cache, but that is what my friend did, and it worked.

I think CTRL-ALT-SHIFT U will get rid of the red and blue 'thingies'.

You need to set the overall program to play the videos - this is in the options screen.

you might also consider rebaking textures. between those two, you might just get lucky and get this thing solved. let us know.

I've heard people mention the "show updates" option doing something like this. I don't have access to SL right now... can someone else chime in on how to deactivate this?

You didn't mention your settings in Preferences. There is a box you can check in the audio and video section that enables (or disables) streaming sound and video. Is that marked so you can receive them? (I keep mine disabled, so I don't see the tab at the bottom of the screen either.)



Have you tried using the Support Portal yet?

I know a lot of people complain, and the Support Portal isn't exactly easy to use, but it IS possible to get help. Try the "Solution Finder" and if it doesn't answer your question, you'll be given a link for Live Chat. Using that, I actually got a Linden to deal with my support ticket right away... they came out, met me in-world, and restarted a buggy sim.

I don't totally disagree with you, though... getting support should be a lot easier than this.

ok the cntrl alt shft U took care of the fog issues Yay...lol....

now the other issue is the video....yes the streaing video and music box are clicked in the preferences box....when I click the streaming music the music tab pops up...but if I click the streaming vids box it looks highlighted in and orange way and the tab soesnt pop up...so still have that issue...thank you all for your help!!!!!
