Ok, I've finally captured one of this guy's scanners in a tiny piece of land I own, and it can't get out, since he's banned from my main parcel and all surrounding parcels are no object entry. It's a invisible/phantom/temp prim that self replicates, and periodically drops another prim that's invisible/phantom, temporary, and physical. This prim either de-rezes or dies shortly after colliding with the ground. If you stand in this tiny plot I have and watch you'll see the dust it kicks up and if you turn on show invisible you can see the prims themselves. The actual dropper is up around 200m called Amon2v3, the prim it drops is Amon3v3. My question is wtf is this guy, who doesn't live in the sim I'm in doing sending these things around, taking up sim load with all these collisions. I detected him when I was working on the Grey Goo Stopper, this guy was actually the first I saw, and the reason I added the "repeat offender permaban" option to it. He also helped me discover that no object entry and ban lines don't affect objects crossing a sim border. Does anyone know this character? Whats his game? Torley Linden: I removed naming of names here — it's often a good idea to ask someone personally if you have questions for them, especially if they're responsible for making a device. Some devices like this are land-for-sale scanners: annoying but not threatening the grid's stability. If an object's deemed to be hazardrous to the safety of Second Life, we can destroy it. Sounds like a bug, please send a bug report from Help menu > Report Bug inworld if you're sure this is the case.

Possibly a griefer, or it's a self replicating object he unwittingly accepted and rezzed, which is now....well....self replicating itself. Might be related to the grid just going down.
