I assumed Second life runs on Pacfic Standard time but for example in Seattle its 10;11 am right now as I post this but earlier last night I was here at 8 pm my forum post said it was 6 am.
I am so confused Is forum time different then Second life so if its 10 am my time in Seattle what in heck time is it in second life?
Thanks in advance for answering

Forum time and SL time are two separate things. To change your forum time, find the User CP link at the top of this page. This will allow you to edit your forum profile. Then click the Edit Options link on the left hand side. In this section you will find a place to change your time zone. Hope this help!

FD, you've asked quite a few questions in here, several daily.

I'd suggest you take some time and read the stickied post and some of the inworld help from F1. Every question you've asked has been addressed there fairly simply. If you take the time to read that information, you'll almost certainly have to spend less time here and more time in world! :)

I will help you out because I know from past experience it takes time to find out where all the information is and s/l can be overwhelming for newer people.

In world s/l runs on /s/l time which by the 24 hour clock system is pacific time, that is 8 hours behind GMT London, there are minor alterations to account for daylight saving (In the UK)

However.....s/l time is separate from that of external time insomuch as in standard sims an s/l day is 4 hours, that is 3 hours of light and 1 hour of darkness.

Estate Island owners can over ride this by having night and day set how they choose.

You personally can also over ride these settings but they will only effect you personally and not impact on any other avatar, by going to world tab and looking at sun settings you can force day, night, dawn, or evening, in terms of light.

You need also to be aware of elevation as some sims are higher up against sim water natural ground level which is 20 meters high. In Weber for example you are nearly 200 meters high. That means (as cloud level is around 200/240 meters) it was always misty even in broad daylight hence darker.

Finally on private Islands the owner can also raise or lower land by plus or minus 100 meters, and this includes altering the so-called natural sea level of 20 meters. This also effects your perception of natural light due to elevations.

Hope this helps

Regards

John

I Know FD In world, and he IS trying to Understand what is going on. I've Given him a couple of Building lessons, and will be Giving more. I have no trouble answering anyone here if i can help.
The thing you should remember, the Questions May seem elementary to you, to FD, they are Not. Pe Patient.

No, no, no. I wasn't meaning it like that, or in a mean way. I was meaning it exactly as I said it, a lot of his questions can be answered in those two resources, I mentioned them in case he didn't know about them. It's well worth the time overall to take a look at them and then a lot of other things can be learned and you can spend more time in world creating and having fun then waiting on a hopefully knowledgeable resident to answer.

I have done some reading actually a lot and sometimes its all bit confusing to me.
I am not dumb just somethings I don't entirely get sometimes due to some health issues.
I did look perhaps not in right places before asking this question and all of questions sometimes I just find it all bit overwhelming when I can't find exactly what I am looking for and I do look first before asking.
Sometimes its just confusing too. Couple times I have read things in manual and just don't get.
Sorry if I am being too much of pest.
Thanks for answering for those who did, still feeling dumb but at least I know forum time is different then sl time
