When I edit an object, I can't see who owns it, or anything like that. The input boxes are just shaded! Why is this, and how can I change it?

W00t! I get to answer this since someone did the same for me two days ago. You have "select only my objects" checked. Uncheck it and you will once again be able to see the edit info on objects you don't own. :)

This happens to me when I have Select Only my objects enabled in the Tools menu. Could that be it?

I am having the same problem. But when I checked my tools settings, "select only my objects" is currently unchecked. So what is causing my problem? I cannot see size or coordinates of other objects i click on.

I'd appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Princess Ivory

You have to be no more than ~50mts from the object to be able to see the info. I'm not exactly sure about the right distance, but I know there's a minimum distance.

I've also noticed that if you right click and go to Edit on someone else's item, you often need to right click the object again to get the info to show up in the Edit window.

You can`t always see ALL the details of someone else`s objects, but you should always be able to see who owns it...Sounds a bit odd to me, unless you have crashed and don`t know it yet hehehe :D

I'm only guessing here, but I believe when the object is No Copy/ No Mod/ it hides the information so it can't be copied.

There's a bug that was introduced in recent versions.

If you try to view *someone else's* object by right clicking on it and choosing Edit, and you were not already in Edit mode (ie, the Build window wasn't open), then you will go into Edit mode but the object won't be selected. You can go ahead and select it and then you will see the data.
