Is my account going to disappear? What about my stipend? My computer died and it has taken nearly a month for us to get the new one on order (some parts are still on back-order and I expect it will be another two weeks before I am up and running again). Is this going to affect my account? It won't get deleted or anything will it? Does it help anything that I log onto the website here as often as possible? I posted the same on the Linden forum but maybe someone here can help me :)
Thanks for any advice!

Your account information is not stored on your computer. It is safe regardless of what happened to your PC. You just need to remember your password and login.

This also ensures that you can log in from any computer, as long as it has the latest Second Life client installed there.

If you are a premium member, the stipends just keep getting issued weekly even if you don't log on.

*comforts* I hate when computers become high-tech paper weight.

Fortunately, your account will not get deleted for not logging in, on the Linden side either. I think the only time I've heard of an account being deleted was due to permban in world and I'm not too sure about then either.

As Cottonteil said, if you are premium, you'll get your stipend regardless, but if you aren't, you won't get the stipend during your absense.

I wish you a lot of luck on this, as I'm looking at my husband's high-tech paper weight and waiting for the part to fix it to come in.

If you don't have a premium account, you might want to hop onto Second Life at a friend's house, just to be safe. I *think* inactive free accounts are purged after a period of inactivity (it used to be the case), but i'm not sure any more.

check your account on the website

There is also a place where you can check your account on the secondlife.com website. Log in there with your AV name and password. It will show you your L$ account balance, etc. So you can check that you are still saving up your L$ for that big shopping spree when you get back in-world. <g>

Good Luck and have fun.

I read somewhere, recently, that this is the case. I think it is after 60 days, but I may be wrong.
