Can non-human animals inhabit gor?

I know Gor and the “visitor” tag, but Can someone RP an animal in a gor forest?

Possible Rules?
1. The animal cannot talk except for normal animal sounds.
2. The animal must completely resemble a real animal that would inhabit that type of forest.
3. No imaginary species or magical animals.
4. You can be captured, killed and eaten, but you can come back again.
5. Use a group tag for a temporary name such as “Fox 6”
6. A caged animal can drop dead for no good reason, but you cannot come back again that day.

From an LL perspective, a gor landowner can ban anyone.
But I think this would be an interesting way for some furies to RP in the gor forest sims.

I'm aware of one Gorean sim that allowed ppl to rp there as Larls for a short while (giant catlike creatures of Gor), but by and large no....it's been my impression that Gor is meant to be a human to human Rp. Of course, if you're serious about joining Gor and keeping your Fursona (I hope I'm using that word correctly :) ) You can always try to IM a gorean sim owner and ask them about allowing you to play a Larl or some such animal.

hiya :)

As far as i know Nyuki (kassau sim) and the City of Lydius allow gorean animals (larls, wolves etc), on an approval basis. Not sure about the others, but like Jo said, just check with the sim owner or the sim Admin and they'll tell ya

Yeah, you might be able to get away with a Tarn AV or something, but even then it would have to be specific to the roleplay at hand, not as a day to day character.

oo, while I think on it, ive seen pictures of people riding Tarns, where might I find one?

I bought mine from Vivienne Dageurr, it's somewhere at her "Black Rose market" in her picks, third floor, to the left at the top of the stairs, "Gorean Transportation".

I used to have permission from the Lydius sim admins to RP as a wolf there, so long as I acted like a realistic wolf. There were other sims I was allowed to RP in too, and there was even a small number of people who, like me, were given an exception to the normal "human avatars only" rule. Heck at one point we even had groups of people, in a semi-organised way, roleplaying animals in Gorean sims.

Unfortunately that era is past.

Awhile ago, I checked back into the issue, thinking I should get confirmation it was ok if I ever wanted to RP there again. I found that Lydius has a new administration that is against the idea, and have told me that my roleplaying as a Wolf there is not welcome any more. The other Gorean sims that supported such roleplaying seem to have closed down, and the friends I had amongst Gorean sim admins have either left those sims, left Gor, or left SL entirely.

Originally I came to explore Gor as part of my work - my research for the guide to BDSM and Kink in SL. I roleplayed there because it was one of the few RP environments in SL where people stay IC most of the time. The slave girls were very kind to me and it was fun to amuse them with RP, however, there were some people who did things like deliberately beat my character up, on the grounds that apparently, little puppies are "weak", and thus deserving of many kicks from Gorean men wearing hard boots. I know that Gorean Masters beating the stuffing out of little puppies simply because they feel it is right to treat "weakness" that way is not in line with the official principles of how Gorean RP is supposed to go. I'm well aware that Gorean books claim that the truly secure and self-confident Gorean Master would be above such petty cruelty, for such cruelty is usually a sign of insecurity. Nevertheless, I did have various incidents (such as that one) in which I was treated badly, IC, by characters in Gor, and after awhile I realised that in a world based on "might makes right"... being a "weak" character (an animal) is probably not wise if you wish for self-preservation.

It took me awhile but eventually I realised that I diddn't want to continue to roleplay as a realistic animal in a Gorean sim.
The primary reason for this is that I realised Gor could never give me what I wanted. Gor seemed to be to be governed by a very rigid set of rules as to what types of RP are ok. I had no interest in slavery, but I did have an interest in imaginative roleplay, and so, I realised that Gor was not for me. In Gor, characters are very limited, in comparison to a more free and mature RP in which you can draw on a lot more creative influences for your character's background. I drew the inspiration for my character from many things... humanity, wolves, felines, and the A.Is from sci-fi. I wanted an environment where creative, freeform RP was valued and I diddn't find that in Gor, so I left and went looking for more accepting climates.

There may still be Gorean places that allow you to RP as an animal - however, I don't know of any.

My personal suggestion though is that if you want to RP as an animal, or otherwise experiment a lot with your character, you're probably better off seeking a non-Gorean RP environment, as non-Gorean RP environments tend to be much more open-minded, flexible, and supportive of imagination/creativity in roleplay.

Thanks. This takes me in a different direction.

Since humans like to go to furry sims and hunt, I am thinking that it would be intresting if that was set up as a game. We would have to figure out a way to remove the mini map blip or make it useless by building the forest verticaly.

But then they could use scanners.

One thought would be remote controled Av's with "unlimited distance" cameras.

There is already a sim with a game set up for chasing people around in a maze for RP, complete with scripted objects to manage the catching. Furries and human avs (and anything else) are accepted just fine.

Most Gorean cities do Not allow Non-Human Avatars at all, As a matter of Role Play, they prefer All those with Human like Intelligence to appear Human (Granted that MIGHT give some people a walk on the rules, But they just aren't that lenient in Gorean Sims. Lol)
Recently The residents of One City strongly Objected because my Avatar has Red eyes. It didn't Fit with their Definition of "Human".

Don't think so, When I went through the trouble of making War Tarn avvies and asked about RPing a tarn, I was basically told to drop dead. :)

So the tarns are just 'Warfalcons' now. :)
