Why is it that my post for "looking for skin" gets moved to Classifieds: Products Wanted and yet in Resident Answers half the post seem to be about real estate and are not moved to one of the real estate forums?
I'm just feeling curious?

Technically, product requests are supposed to be put in the Products Wanted section of the forums. (even though that section is kind of boring and no one really responds, lol) I don't think there is a section for real estate anymore; I think it was closed. These latest land posts are about bots (automated screen names that find and buy land faster than a human could). It is a hot topic, and it's probably being allowed because it is unique and the focus of attention lately. It is getting annoying though. There are like 7 threads about bots in Resident Answers.

perhaps they noticed yours, because of the Looking part and didn't notice the others. I wouldn't take it personally. It's a part of life. If it really bothers you, you can take the time to report the others, but that would take a part of your life you could use for something constructive.

the truth is overrated ![]() The most successful software company in the world does a piss-poor job on all these points. Particularly the first three. Why do you expect Linden Labs to do any better? ![]() |

(even though that section is kind of boring and no one really responds, lol) This is really my primary concern, when I post other places the traffic is so light, and I feel that, while things like real estate are important in SL, there are other things just as important to some of us. |

Robin, you'll find that posts with meaningless titles like "just curious" get less effect too. I usually skip them because I'm looking for posts with topics that interest me. In this case I had an extra minute or two to kill, I guess.
I wish people would learn to use meaningful topics. Ah well, I'm tilting at windmills, no doubt. BTW, I routinely search 'new posts' without regard for the topic, so I find posts of interest wherever they may happen to be. I suspect a lot of folks do this as well, so don't worry that your original post will languish unheeded. Also, you might want to start at the end of the 'sexy av' thread and work backwards. There are a couple very photorealistic ones, and you might get a clue there. |

Chances are that someone else has looked for something that you want to buy. Skins are a hugely popular product in SL. I just did a search in the forums for skins, and a lot of threads popped up. You may have to sift through the threads because all of the results are not products. The search is at the top of the page under the forum header. Click on the triangle next to the word search, and a box will appear for you to type in. Click on advanced search to search only specific sections of the forum.
