I have purchased Lindens using Paypal before, directly, through my bank account on a couple of occasions. The beauty of this, is it allows people to play SL among other things without a credit card. Recently, the Lindens have changed their payment status with Paypal to only allowing those with a verified account status.

The only way, that i have seen, to verify a Paypal account is to insert a credit card number. I do not have this opportunity available to me. It seems completely foolish, to me. If i wanted to withdraw from a hypothetical credit card, i'd submit my CC data directly to the Lindens instead of going to a third party website. My Paypal account is definitely not new. It has two years of history, premium status and a (2) on it.

Anyways, aside from the rant, does anybody know a way around this? As an alternative to that, if anybody could push me in the right direction for proposing a change to this it'd be much abliged.

Check with Pay Pal but I believe you can get verified status with a bank account, the whole point is Pay Pal need to establish ID together with a secure payment process. Give Pay Pal a telephone call and explain the issue to them and see if they have any solutions

To get verified it requires a landline phone number which you have to reply to a call to and put in some digits, or a letter to your home address with a code. You also get two small deposits put into your bank account which you have to tell them the amounts.

Being verified doesn't require a credit card, it's proof of bank account ownership and correct address.
