Hi. I grabbed the regular Wet Ikon Animation Override that most /ao wearin people seem to use, and I have customized it a little for myself & a few friends... (my Spidey version was my fav). Unfortunately it won't take any anims from Abrahnimations!

Every time I go to Abrahnimations, it's PACKED w/ people buying anims, so I know there must be an AO for sale in there that works. Try as I might...I haven't seen a base AO yet to plug my anims into besides Wet Ikon.

Does anybody use Abrahnimations animations, that can tell me where I can get the basic AO?

There's no reason I am aware of that the Wet Ikon Animation Override wouldn't work with animations purchased from Abrahnimations. An AO simply plays the animations that you install in it.

The usual process for adding animations to an exiating AO is to drag the AO from inventory to the ground, edit and open contents of the AO, then drag the animations from inventory to the AO's contents. After that, depending on the AO, you usually need to edit the notecard for configuration, and add in the names of the animations that you added, in the appropriate places on the notecard.

Hope that helps!

I agree, any animation should work with any AO. However if you want an alternative, find a copy of the ZHAO AO, its's free, and I like it.

I have a several abranimations loaded into a wet ikon ao and they work fine. I haven't run into an animation that doesn't work with that particular ao.

Very carefully check the spelling and for extra spaces in the names of the animations. I've had problems withthe animations from several vendors which have extra spaces in the name that is not easily seen.

Kool, I'll try that.

I did make a simple /AO that I use in-world, using WetIkon v.7 and I copied and pasted each name & it didn't work...only the Freebie Power Walk. I'll give it another try, thanks for the responses

Some AOs get grumpy and weird if you add lines, remove lines or reorder lines in their config files. Seems to happen because the script has the line numbers hardcoded into it (like, "line 26 contains a sit anim name";) instead of trying to parse the whole notecard.

In addition to checking the spelling, you might want to make sure that you don't change the format of the notecard - just add your anims to the empty lines and don't try to make things neater or more organized.

A few things to know:

The Wet Ikon uses the Franimation script and almost every other AO script in SL uses the Franimation script, or is an adaptation of the Franimation script like the ZHAO.

Every animation should be usable in any AO. There is no reason that an animation from one creator wouldn't work in an AO based on the Franimation script.

As someone who regularly helps people with their AO, 99% of the problems are caused because either the animation name is slightly mispelled on the notecard or because the user added an extra line when they were editing the notecard.

I seem to remember some Abranimation animations have extra spaces in the name where you wouldn't expect it. Make sure to copy the name of the animation from the properties of the animation. This is usually the best way to insure you are copying it correctly.

Is there any sort of function on your AO that you need to *reset* it to recognize new animations? Essentially to make it read the notecard again?

Yes there is, at least in all the AOs I've tried. There usually a notecard with the instructions for your AO and it will list the command. I forget what it usually is since I use the ZHAO and just click on the icon

I think Keiki's advice is spot on. I'm just chiming in to add that I actually prefer the ZHAO for the HUD interface. It's easier for me than having to say "/ao on" and "/ao off" in public chat all the time. Your mileage may vary, of course.

Just echoing Anhuk's advice. Always reset the ao after adding animations. Typing ao reset or /1 ao reset usually does it.

Agreed! The ZHAO is the best I've found, as well. No more chat commands, as mentioned above, plus you can put several sets of anims in it and switch between them easily. Plus, it leaves another attachment point free. :)

I often find it difficult to use in laggy environments (ie. the HUD won't rez quickly). Most appear to be franimation based and I've never had it so good since reverting to a HUDless model, stripping the channel zero listening code from the script, and using gestures to control it. Ie. F5 switches it on, Shift F5 switches it off, Ctrl F5 does an /1 ao next stand. And so on. :)

The pre-loaded AOs that Abraminations sells are based on the Wet Ikon one. (They clearly state that the AO itself is open source and free; you're buying the animations, not the AO.) So their animations will clearly work with it! Like the other people said, be careful with the spacing and spelling, and you should do fine.
