I've been gently dipping into the reams and reams of copybot threads - does there have to be so many? - and I spotted a point I wanted to comment on but it was about three pages back from latest post. I think this may pre-date the copybot anyway:
When I started about a fortnight back I collected freebies like there was no tomorrow.(sounds familiar?) Amongst them I found an article of clothing I thought nice. A couple of nights ago, a friend kindly gave me copies of some selected articles. Among these was an identical item but with a different name - one including an owner/designer name.
Last night I returned to Midnight City and there, on the wall of one of the best shops there was this item, with name. I guess this might happen a lot? The owner was nearby but away or I would have raised the point.
Do all copy-enabled items risk this renaming/distribution problem? I appreciate the convenience of copy for outfits but do original owners not have any protection?
