Yes i am one of the many who have been here long enough to know better then to complain about grid stability. However i need to ask if Linden Lab has any plans to rectify the proceeding issues in any time near the present. It seams all of the major annoyances of SL are creeping up all at once here the last 3 days. It's getting worse and worse every day.
1. Failure to Rez Objects from Inventory (Only 1 of every 20-30 tries does it actually rez. My friend and i both had this problem yesterday and today). 2. Insufficient Rights to view Note Card/Script (These are scripts and note cards that i created and own with full permission. You have to drag them into boxes if you can rez them, or out of them to make it visible. My friend also had this happen). 3. Teleport Request Failed (Thinking the rez problem was due to the current sim, i attempt to go to another one. About the 3rd or 4th try i usually am able to teleport...). 4. Attempting to Log out from frustration failed (after all these problems get to me, i wish to log off. However i cannot do that because it hangs at the logout progress bar, leaving me with no other option but to use the windows task manager o force close SL). 5. Attempting to log back in after i cool off failed (It hands about 1 inch on the login progress bar for a heck of a long time... Sometimes it even stops responding).

Also i need to add that sometimes when i attempt to Rez objects from my inventory they get shifted off to location <0,0,0> in the current sim, to be returned and questioned later by whoever owns that section of the sim. I have also lost a few NoCopy items due to failure to rez. There also is another thing i need to point out. Sometimes attachments and clothing/body parts fail to attach to your avatar when you wear them.

The problems continue to be a pain in the butt even to this day. My friend mal has been having trouble all morning. Scripts he wrote aren't saving correctly, rezzing is still broke, WarpPos is still unusable, and the asset server is on crack or something...

Everybody has all the problems you experience, unfortunatly instead of fixing these problems, Linden Labs needs to wheel in more unverified accounts and get more Press Coverage, and add new features instead of fixing the most basic functions we have.

But if there weren't the unverified accounts people wouldn't be able to create them in order to post anonymously on the forums.

Totally awful. I log or tp in grey areas, missing floors, objects taking hours to rez, scipts lost in object's inventory, even the bug report is broken (Asset request: non-existent file), editing a script is now a high-risk operation (you will LOVE this one: There was a problem uploading the compiled script due to the following reason; No error. Please try again later). Unstable, unreliable, a real pain and still no fun. Terrible.
I'm very, very worried about the future of Second Life. The thing won't scale. LL can't go back now, can't handle the volume of feedback. We don't know how to report (in-world bug report, help request) so most feed-back is simply discarded if it don't fit in the Public Issue Tracker (this is a developer tool, not a user tool). Things are going out of control.

It seams all of the major annoyances of SL are creeping up all at once here the last 3 days. It's getting worse and worse every day. It does seem to be getting the point of unusability. Once it hits 35,000 or more I might as well give up for the day. Prims move at random when I'm building. They go invisible, they won't change size, they rotate for no reason. The other day I built two drones in a sandbox, one of which entirely disappeared after a crash and the other stayed for a few hours in inventory before vanishing never to be seen again. Teleporting is hit and miss and does seem to be connected to the region you attempt to TP from. So fly around some banlines and cross a dodgy sim border and the problem can be worked around. Linden transactions? I don't know, I'm trying not to buy too much until the grid catches up with this level of concurrency. If I'm losing items I personally made I don't want to risk spending on something that'll vanish. I've had two different people contact me in the past two days to say items they bought from me vanished from inventory, and there's plenty of in-world gossip about missing inventory. I've had to clear cache a few times due to half or more of my inventory just failing to appear. Things won't attach because rezzing is appallingly unreliable. I don't know how the businessy types are coping, because I run my "businessess" on a hobby basis and it's been annoying that I can't reliably do things I need to do for my "work" once the grid gets busy. Uploads aren't even that reliable anymore.

Also, @ Yiffy: The past 3 days have been my worst in a LONG time. All the problems you mention plus awful chat lag and sim instability (my sim has rebooted 5 or 6 times since the last update) even though there have been no changes to speak of on my sim in that time and I've got autoreturn set to 10 minutes.

From: Wildefire Walcott Unverifieds can't post. That's just stupid. The majority of support comes from other users. Plus, my apologies to Eric. Silly sarcy comment really.

I'm out of my step here -- It's all over my depth -- over my step over my head body! -- I tell you it's all stopping to a death, it's boding to a depth, stepping to a head, it's all heading to a dead stop!

Yesterday the script time in Dozer was haywire. it kept rising and rising. Nobody understood the cause. amber linden came out to investigate. however strangely enough "deleting a empty prim" sorta made it go down. O.o The whole day i was having what i like to call the "wading through syrup" case where attempting to move around would be utterly laggy and cause you to drag behind and continue to move after you let go of the key.On top of the problems discussed in this topic so far i agree that the last few days have been the worst SL has been through. It's getting close to that point where it's almost unusable.
All the frustrations of a content creator... It's a wander why we still try. But our creative imaginations keep us going. The first reply in this topic and it's following discuss how unverified accounts play a role in this, but honestly its not just them this time. It's the sheer numbers of total people logged in that causes some of this (account type doesn't always matter even though there are more of them then verified). The rest of it is related to faulty coding. Anyway the faulty coding of the server software makes me wander if we even want them to make it open source. i believe the OpenSL guys should keep working on that OpenSim project. I see potential in that.

I must also bring up the bug about attachments. This is hell on a furry... Switching avatars had become a pain. Eve nif you don't have something in that slot it still tells you you do...
Example 1: normal attachment swapping. Detach: White left hand paw. Attach: Black left hand paw. Error: Unable to attach to that location. The location specified is already being used.
Example 2: Just logging in not rezzed yet. you are currently rezzing your avatar from the ruthed state. 5 minutes pass and you notice your not fully rezzed yet. You drag your avatar folder to yourself. Error: Unable to attach to that location. The location specified is already being used. Error: Unable to attach to that location. The location specified is already being used. Error: Unable to attach to that location. The location specified is already being used.
Example 3: detaching all to start over. You detach all attachments from the pie menu. You attempt to either drag a avatar folder to yourself OR just 1 attachment. Error: Unable to attach to that location. The location specified is already being used.
In all these cases, your only options are to either waits a long time and try again, use the debug menu to apply the test female avatar (which can crash your client sometimes), or just relog. However it gets extremely annoying after it happens more then 10 times in 1 day.

From: Yiffy Yaffle I must also bring up the bug about attachments. Hair styles!! Jeez! When I login, I might get my prim hair ok. Everyone else's might too but as soon as I start teleporting .. if I can teleport (often refuses) ... that's it ..standard hair showing through .. scalps showing through where prim parts will not rezz ... aaggh!

I think I spent most of my time lagging around the grid.
First, lets start with logging into my home sim. Took forever and then took another forever to lag into existence and to have the surroundings do the same. Did I mention that I was in my cube above my shop, in the clouds? So much for occlusion culling. I log out in frustration and decide to log in to another sim instead of the home one, because I couldn't teleport anywhere. Oh, the difference!
Second, I decide to go shopping for hair. I'm addicted to shopping for hair. I go to Gurl6 (No insult Six) but I was lagged down to unmovable. I managed to get some demo's that I thought might fit my mood, but by the end of it, I was nearly pulling out my hair. I figure it must have been my connection, because no one else was complaining about the lag. Then it dawned on me that no one was even talking, let alone complaining. And half the images failed to rez. (I was using the 2nd of the 3 First Look Viewers.)
Oh, then I decide to teleport home to see how the demo's look. I figure well, the lag there is a lot better than the lag in the shop. Uh-huh. I get the 'unavailable' message, which given the bad packet loss, I figure it must have finally crashed under it's own weight. Oh, by the way, it was on the list of class 4 that were down. Wouldn't have known if I hadn't been forced to log back in after a client crash.
Yeah. So, later I go to Limbo. There's some idiotic anti-copybot script running there and it's driving the Guardians crazy trying to find it. *shrugs* Don't know if they did, but the sim went down and I logged in back home. The color changes I had made to my dress hadn't stuck, because it was reviving me from an older copy, I guess. Or at least my attachements, since the bodice and underskirt were just fine. Went back to the sandbox and I'm glad to report that the stupid script was gone. I feel for them when the only way to get rid of a script is to restart a sim!
