My only problem with SL is why can't we join as many groups as we like.I reach my limid of 25 & now i'm leaving one group to join another. It's not fair to me and the the group ower. There are many group i want to join but can't because of this stupid rule of only "25 groups can join".

I think it's because the don't want people gaming the 10% Land tier discount you get when donating land to groups. Or it might be a server load issue. Wow, you are popular. And busy.

Groups are limited for technical reasons, relating to scalability. Allowing us to be members of more groups without fixing those scalability issues first would be harmful for everyone.

When I was new, the group limit was 10. ;)

The majority of groups I've joined are either completely silent or spamfests. Can't imagine ever needing to be in more than 25 but that's just me. :)

I will go out on a limb and say that we need to be able to mute group IM far more than we need unlimited groups :D

Priorities....

Heck, think about all the notecards thrown at you each time you log in if you were in say 100 groups, not to mention all the group IMs flooding your screen while talking to people :p

Denise, you know you can turn off Group Announcements, right? Just click on the group name in your groups list choose "Info." on the main tab there is a checkbox at the bottom to Recieve Group Announcements.....

For me, it's vendor groups. The "Set your vendors to this group so we don't chuck it out when we sweep" groups.

If they could create something like... I dunno... like a different type of group that is just for land rights and vendors, no chat, no nothing, just "Set objects to group", and have them as a seperate thing, then 25 would be MORE than enough.

As it stands now, though, I'm at about 18 vendor groups, 3 social and the rest for personal stuff, work projects, etc.

Too bad that doesn't actually do anything anymore :(.

It used to work perfect, then every now and then a notice got through, now it's just plain broken. SL in a nutshell :p.
