I'm trying to cash out large amount of lindens, around L$90k soon, aside from the Lindex (which is currently taking a week from what I'm hearing), what's a good way to pull out money?

If you can get the buyers then SLexchange will cash out the dollars normally within 24hours.

I use the SL Exchange now but I've used IGE in the past as well. 6 of one, half dozen of the other for the most part. Both will put the cash in your PayPal account though the exchange is a bit slower process.

I regularly cash out between 20k and 50k and have never waited more than a day for the orders to fund. The thing you have to be careful not to do is put your limit order in at such a low rate that you get behind someone cashing out massive sums of L (as in millions...) If you want the fastest movement, look at what amount the last trade was at and then post your amount at $1 L above that number, this will bump you to the front of the line for incoming orders to be filled.

(which is currently taking a week from what I'm hearing) LindeX seems ok, just as long as you set your sell price at reasonable level ^^;; |

To sell in a hurry, I usually go to Anshe. Her service is really quick, generally less than one full day. She's of course in business to make a profit so her rates aren't necessarily the highest, but I've found they're usually pretty reasonable.
Right now, she'll give you $320 for L$100,000. If my math is right, that's only $8 below today's best buying rate, and actually $5 above today's best selling rate, quite reasonable. If you're selling L$90K, that's $288 quick cash from Anshe. Oh, and don't be thrown off by the fact that the drop down list on her site goes in 50K incriments. I've sold odd amounts to her before, and it's always been fine. _____________________

You might want to clarify where you do this, since obviously the LindeX doesn't do it anymore. What do you mean by this? It appears you can still use "Limit Sell" option on LindeX to specify desired sell rate, so you can view the currently open sell orders list, and tailor your rate accordingly to place your order in desired slot o.O; |

I don't have the option to pick and choose my L selling rate ![]() OOh. You need to go to your account page and click "Currency Exchange Settings" on the right sidebar. Direct link is this: https://secondlife.com/account/currency_settings.php once you are on this page, switch from "basic" to "advanced" interface mode. This will enable option to trade your L$ at preferred rate on the sell/buy pages ^^; For what's worth, I dropped some 50k L$ on sale for 275:1 at 20:37 today, and it was filled literally in half hour o.O; |

That's good to know!!! I don't wander around too many settings pages. I don't want to get stuck paying for something by accident!

aside from the Lindex (which is currently taking a week from what I'm hearing) Is there some confusion here ? It's currently taking that long for LL to process your US$ to PayPal if that's what you mean. Actually selling on the Lindex is dependent on the price you set and can be instant. |

If you are still looking to cash out. I can make an instant transfer via paypal on a private sale. I need that 90+ and we can both save our currency exchange fees. Back in later today. IM me if you are still looking. |

You might want to clarify where you do this, since obviously the LindeX doesn't do it anymore. LindenX, as someone upthread mentioned, you need to be on the advanced settings page to set limit orders. Let me also add that I don't request US funds payment back to me since I'm saving up for a sim - so getting an actual check or paypal transfer indeed appears to take up to a week. _____________________

Yep, got that changed already! Also, it's seemingly taking no less than the week, with a few waiting a couple of days longer TO CASH TO PAYPAL. The sale itself can be instant, but the request to paypal takes that long. I've never used any other methods so I can't tell you for sure on the others.

I pay cash for your linden. Lindex seems to be taking about 5 business days as of late, but sometimes it is within hours of the request too. I really haven't found a pattern yet.

Getting around transfer fees
09-24-2006 16:44
I'm interested in getting around some of these transfer fees for buying/selling $L.
I would like to set up a partnership with 1 or more people who would be willing to transfer $L directly from AV to AV, and from Paypal to Paypal, which would end up saving a bit of money over time. To start with, I only want to work with well established (well known) people who I'd recognize from 6+ months ago (It's been awhile since I've been active), however, since you don't know me, I am willing to transfer up to $500 from my Paypal to yours first... and then you can transfer $L to me based on the rate we agree on. Let me know if there is already a group of people doing this, or if someone is interested in getting this started. You can contact me in-world - Ashling Babka Thanks, Ashling (David) |
