This seemed like an interesting thread locked for no good reason. It makes the forums feel like a prison camp, "Inmates must not socialise & discuss things" I realise Moderators have a job to do and many threads get out of hand but this didn't seem to be one of them. Directing people to other sites because you can't talk about general things on the SL forums seems a bit "we don't want you here"
/quote/ " This forum isn't for general discussion; there are many Resident Sites where this discussion is appropriate — Resident Answers is for Resident-to-Resident help. I'll close this thread. How do you identify a question as acceptable for RA? Is it specific to SL? Is it a question with an answer that is helpful for SL?" /quote/
And as far as I see most of the threads here about anything aren't specific to SL. Helpful for SL, no it won't help LL make money except by not alienating residents if that helps, but it doesn't harm SL either.

I think it was just Strife's "sense of humor" that made him close it.

We get way more slack on this forum than we should. I'm not bummed when the occasional thread gets locked and I'm grateful we still have this last place for our freedom of speech within secondlife.com. (I don't count blog comments because I don't read them.)

I think there should be a Social Space on This Forum. we all can't be in world at the same time. Conversations do tend to drift a bit. That's human nature I like that. It's entertaining. There are numerous places, to go but having a conversation going here, and moving to another website is kind of likestarting a conversation in a bar, stopping it, getting in your car and driving to another bar to finish it here. At least with a General or OT space here we can move there, kind of like just taking it to another room.

You're promoting SNE? But not my stock? HOT is the ticker. The market cap is much smaller (2 million shares vs. Sarah's 40 million shares), so it's easier for me to pay large dividends. Don't get me wrong, I bought some of Sarah's IPO, too.

Maybe we do need a forum to chat in since the inworld text is illegible.
