Help! Accidentally banned by landowner!

Yesterday I witnessed a griefing attack on some sale land by a newbie who covered it in large prims. It was near my home so I right-clicked the prims and found the owner/creator. I contacted the landowner who came over and removed the objects. At the same time I was checking out an office building to see if the griefer had managed to slide entry-objects through the wall into there too. As I came out I was ejected and banned by the landowner I had summoned, when I stepped on his land.

I now find I am banned from the land (presumably the landowner thought I was the griefer) and presumably I am also muted. Meanwhile the real griefer, whose name I passed on, is not banned.

I don't mind not being able to use the land, just the fact that I might have been wrongly assumed to be a griefer, and that I am named on land details as a banned person.

Send me an IM ingame with the name of the landowner and I'll try to talk it with him for you

it could be also, that the landowner decided it would be easier to keep that kind of greif from happening again, if he erected banlines. It might not be anything personal against you.

Of course.. you'd have to know if you're banned from accessing the land because you're actually ON the ban list.. or if it's just something arbitrary.. like payment status, or people not iin a certain group.

Try right clicking on a bare spot of ground on the land and go to 'about land'. It should show specific names of people who have been banned or if it's just been set to ban certain groups like unverifieds or set to ban everyone.

The ban specifically applies to me - I am the only person banned from the land, and it was me that reported the griefer (by name) to the landowner!

I think he spotted me from some way off (he was in mid-air) and freeze/eject/ banned me, mistaking me for the lurking griefer.

Drop a notecard in his inventory with the explanation you just gave us, He can receive that.
