Hi, I've disabled 'send im to email' for my primary av but of course I get a plethora of them for my alt instead. Secondlife.com won't accept my alt login despite it getting me into the game. Do I need to wipe cookies or something please?

It won't help with being able to log in to the website, but couldn't you simply log in your alt and under Preferences, then IM, you can uncheck "Send IM to Email"?

Thanks Kitty, I'll have a look and feedback with the hour. I thought LL had moved this from the game to the website .. but then I've been very confused since I joined SL

It's under the Edit menu at the top, then Preferences. When you click on IM it should be there at the top, assuming you're logged in.

You can also edit from the logon screen without logging on. Click Preferences instead of Connect and the Preferences box will open. Each alt has his/her/its [G] own Preferences, though, so you'll have to edit each separately.

Edit: Th option to forward IMs to email is available only in-world. Makes sense I suppose.

I have had the same problem can not get my alt to log in to the website but it does log into the game

I have emailed LL to no avail as well as filed bug reports and spoke to some lindens in "person"

still no go... oh well

Thanks for that Hopping, I thought I'd seen it on the web site somewhere. I went back to preferences in game and it *is* there too but I *did* have to login first. It was so dark from the login screen I must simply have missed it before.

As an aside and re-reading my title, Rhaorth raises a point. I wanted a while back to post on forum under my alt but this login problem prevented me.
Is there a cookie or something I need to wipe?

That's been lifted AFAIK. I've seen quite a few that were unverified on here lately.

Although, I guess it could be that they've gotten verified and it hasn't updated in the system when I've poked around.
