SL, and just about everything connected with it, is broken because LL can't do things very well. For instance, if the account was closed, how come you managed to open it again. Since the old account probably isn't important, why not create a new one?

I'm sorry you thought it was unhelpful. I merely suggested an alternative, since closing the account some time in the past meant that it wasn't an important account at that time and, therefore, probably isn't now. It was a helpful suggestion even though it's not something you want to do.

I suspect you're going to need to contact Support again, but there's one thing you might try first if you haven't already. (Well, before doing this or anything else, dump all traces of Emerald to avoid confusion when you end up talking to Support, and don't even think about loading it again until you have everything working perfectly on the standard viewer.)

You say you've cleared cache, but that may not be ridding you of everything, unless you did it manually by deleting the user application settings directory. (We really need a sticky for where that directory is located on different OSs. I cribbed the following default locations from an old post by Nika.)

XP:
C:\ Documents and Settings \ < your userid > \ Application Data \ SecondLife

Vista:
C:\ Users\ < user name > \ AppData \ Roaming \ SecondLife

OSX:
(your Home folder) / Library / Application Support / SecondLife - > Cache
or possibly: ~/Library/Caches/SecondLife

Linux:
~/.secondlife/

If you want, you can retain the subdirectories of any unaffected accounts.

Unfortunately, however, you're likely to need to get Support involved; I'm guessing they didn't quite complete the resurrection of the account.

I don't know about Vista but in XP there's also a cache folder (at least on my machine there is) at

C:\Documents and Settings\ < user id > \Local Settings\Application Data\SecondLife.

It's certainly this one I've needed to delete when I'm recovering lost inventory. I realise that's not the OP's issue, but I mention it here for completeness.

LL changed where the cache folder is for XP users somewhere along the line, so many old references to its location are now wrong.

Innula's post has the current normal cache location.
