Hi everyone I have been gone from sl for a while and recently returned. I have a new computer and tried to download the beta grid to test new textures for free and cant find it. Where is beta? I cant really afford to create as much if I have to pay to upload every texture I want to test ... I read on the forum that emerald viewer gave free uploads, I just tried it and didnt work it charged me ... what does everyone do now for free uploads to test things? Thanks

I don't use the beta grid, but, I have used Emerald's temp uploader. When you click to upload a texture, you choose the texture and have to check the temporary upload box at the bottom right of the texture preview box before uploading.

Hi Elinah! The beta client is gone but the beta grid is still around. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Preview_Grid says how to get in. We can use the normal client now.

Open the regular client. If you're using Windows, press 'Ctrl+Shift+G' which will opens a selection box. Choose 'Aditi' and log into the Beta Grid.
Log out and choose 'Agni' when you want to log back into the Live Grid. |

My rez date is maybe a month or so ago. I'm trying to access the beta grid so I can upload clothing I made. Am I "too young" to log in? I have another avatar that has a rez date in May 2009, tried to log in and still no joy.
Is there a minimum "age" an avatar must be in order to be able to log in to the beta grid? |

I'm not a 100% sure how Aditi (beta grid) works now, but previously yes you had to be older than the last snapshot they took of the main grid. Example, if I made a object on the main grid on January the 22nd 2010, but the snapshot of the main grid was done on the 21st, then that object would not be available, if I made it on the 20th it would be in my inventory, same applies to avatars in a way. |

Is there a minimum "age" an avatar must be in order to be able to log in to the beta grid? Your avatar has to be older than the last snapshot the beta grid is based on. The last snapshot was apparently created sometime between January and May of last year. _____________________

Hi, there are not bulk database refreshes for Aditi now. Send a note to Oskar Linden for access and inventory refresh, he says he likes to do it that way!
