So many questions!

Greetings

Having recently joined I have found myself wanting to do many things but unsure where to find the answers. That being the case I thought I'd ask the experts

I and a couple of friends want to buy s peice of land. We have formed a group and want to buy it between us and maybe build a pub/club or something along those lines.

can this be done, buy between friends so to speak? If so, whats the easiest way of going about this?

Yes, it most definitely can be done.

The first thing you need to do is to put however much of your personal land allotment you wish to give to the group into the "Land and L$" tab in Group window. If you want to donate more than you have, you have to "tier up" via the land fees page on your account settings here: https://secondlife.com/account/landfees.php Any and all members who also wish to donate their land tier to the group should do so as well.

Once your group has enough land donated to it to purchase the parcel(s) you are interested in, go to the parcel, bring up the "About Land" window. When you purchase a piece of land you have the option of purchasing it for yourself, or for your currently active group. Be sure that your group that you wish to buy land for is the one you are currently in (via "Edit|Groups..". Groups also receive a 10% bonus to the amount of land they can own. So, if you donate 1024 sq m, and your partner donates 1024 sq m, then you can by up to 2048 + 204 = 2252 sq m of land (note that land is not subdivisible below 16 sq m, so you would actually only be able to get 2240 sq m unless one of you donated more land to the group).

That's basically all there is to it.
